"Distant Learning - Lessons by Mail" -- a new and original way of learning Sumi painting and calligraphy is here now! It is an efficient and non-intimidating way of learning.

How it works: Practice painting and writing calligraphy in the comfort of your own home. When you are ready, mail your artwork to us with a stamped return envelope.

Submit a check of $40 for each lesson with your artwork. Each lesson includes up to 4 pieces of art (maximum size of each artwork is approximately 14" x 18'', they can be a mixture of Calligraphy and Painting). Our instructor -Master Yuming Zhu will write comments/critiques and demo strokes for you,  then mail all these with your original artwork back to you.

Enjoy the flexibility of Sumi paper: you can fold your sumi paper and put in an envelope and mail it to us. If you would prefer to mail us the art in a tube, we will mail the art back to you in your tube as long as you provide sufficient postage.
